Texas's Most Abundant Predator

Feral hogs are Texas's most prolific and destructive wildlife species — and El Chital Ranch offers one of the most exciting and action-packed hog hunting experiences in the state. With a thriving population spread across our 4,000 acres of creek bottoms, oak flats, and open senderos, hog action is virtually guaranteed year-round.

Unlike other species, there are no bag limits or season restrictions on wild hogs in Texas — making them an ideal pursuit for hunters looking for high-volume action or an exciting add-on to any big game hunt. Whether you prefer a classic spot-and-stalk in the early morning light or a full-blown night hunt with thermal optics, we offer both experiences at El Chital.

Our night hunts are particularly spectacular. Hunting from elevated blinds or on foot with suppressed rifles and thermal scopes, hunters regularly encounter sounders of 10–40 hogs moving through the creek bottoms and feeders after dark. It is fast, intense, and unlike any hunting experience most guests have had before.

Beyond the hunt, hog control is critical to the health of our land and the protection of our deer and turkey populations. Every hog taken at El Chital directly benefits the native wildlife we've spent decades cultivating. Hunters leave knowing they've made a genuine contribution to the ranch's ecosystem.
